Obsessive Compulsion

Photobucket
Obsessive compulsion to clean and tidy. Cleaning all day long , constantly picking up toys, books, crayons and bits of paper . So how hard is it to fight the urge to tidy up a stack of crooked books at Barns and Noble . What about seeing the cereal boxes at the grocery store all are nice and straight except for that just one thats turned around? To stay healthy and happy is to learn how to relax. When we do have a chance to get out all alone use that time to clear your mind and buy yourself a coffee . Find something you enjoy that you can do alone like a walk or swimming at your YMCA . It's great when you feel like yourself again.

How true it is that I clean up the table at the restaurant. I think I would do the dishes if they would let me. Thank you for the reminder to clear my mind when I am away from home...of the obsesive compulsion. BREATH...It is okay for the table at the restaurant to be dirty.

So true ! Three little kids at a restaurant can make a mess so I always want to get under the table to pick up all the dropped food:)

Very true! We oftentimes are compelled to be "wonder women" and are driven by an invisible force from within to master the universe! Lately, I've been in more of a "thought" mode, very contemplative (and not writing much) - because I've been feeling how important it is to sometimes just STOP and... listen... breathe... you know?!

Kimba, your statement about stopping and breathing makes me think of words that are over 2,000 years old. God said in the Psalms that we should "be still and know that I am God." HE always knows what HE's talking about. I guess it is because HE made us and knows how we work.
